Bravo 2/377 from 1986-1989. Service and Alpha after that. Williams, Cederstrom, and Ritter all sound familiar to me. Went back to Herzo in 1995 while in Germany again, it looked the same but felt really empty. Still miss the good old days. SFC(r) William Holt

Their was two Williams, me E-6 and E-5 Williams a little short guy. I was section chief of the 1st A&T which set a record at Crete and won the first Lance Bowel for B-btry over SSG Rose in A btry. Hello, Jesse how have you been doing, I remember you from Herzo. I was there from 1985-88. I've been in touch with about 5 or 6 guys that where station at Herzo, and at times it seems like yesterday. I live in San Antonio,TX and once and a while go to Lawton/Ft.Sill to see some of the old timers living there. J.Williams SFC,(R)

Hey Jesse and John, I was at Herzo from April 1986 until January 1992. Bravo 1st A&T, 1st Fire (RT operator for SFC Wyatt), Svc Missile Maintenance with CW2 Coe, Alpha 1st Fire with SFC Armistead. Yes John, I did wear glasses and lived close to the CQ Desk for a while. I took over SGT Thronson's room after he left. Currently I live in Lawton with my wife, second daughter, and a bunch of animals. MSG(?)Rose (A Btry) is here as well working with Legal Assistance as the NCOIC of the Tax Center. He is scheduled to retire in a few months. Good to hear from some familiar faces. Talk to you all later, Bill Holt, SFC(R)

I WAS IN HERZO FROM 1989-1991 CHARLIE 3RD/12TH.
| ||
|
I was a "Bigstick" in 1991. I was one of the unfortunate ones that got sent to Herzo, after the 13Ns got the boot from Crailsheim. I left Bravo Battery (Bigsticks), and went to Charlie Battery. I believe SFC Ritter was my platoon sergeant. They called Ritter, The Tumor. I guess because he would kick and scream a lot. But he took care of us, and over all was a nice guy. Bravo "Bigsticks" had a complete nut for a 1sgt. I think his name was Harlen. I remember he lived upstairs in the Bravo Battery day room. Herzo was a looney farm. Does anyone remember SFC Coogan? He was a little guy with a big East Coast temper. I hated Herzo base and 95% of the people stationed there. But now, 13 years later, I miss it a great deal, as well as all the people there. I wish it was still around. Congratulations to all of you that have since retired. May you live long and prosper.
|
Well Mr. Reimbold, How the Heck are ya! Yep, I was known as The TUMOR. But I did not just kick and scream, there was some cussing in there. I did try to take care of my soldiers and I thank you for that comment....But the soldiers made me sucsessfu at the Army career. Well I'm retarted, no I mean retired from the Army after 23 years, Drove a tractor trailer for 9 years and now after 2 heart attacks later I'm looking to buy a motor home, sell my house in Cyril Oklahoma and just travel from place to place. SFC Coogan was my 1SG at the 1/12th FA (Sill) untill I went to train the Kentucky Gaurd at Fort Knox. Coogan retired back to PA if I rememeber. From Fort Knox,I went back to the 17th BDE as tasking NCO and then Retired......This web site has brougt a lot of missile monkey's back in contact with one another and with thanks to the web master........ SFC (Ret) Jesse Ritter
