Only just found your web site and would just like to say hi to all those who served with lance as I did for 15 years in West Germany, especially those who where in the 69th usfad. I notice that there is talk of the lance still being used as a target for Patriot in Hawaii and there may be jobs for ex crewmen, well I'm your man and who do I write to for the job application!!!!. Seriously I enjoyed every minute of my time in Menden and have since been back for a reunion, there are still track marks scored in the kerb stones about the camp which is now all civillian housing. The most awesome thing I saw was a live firing in the outer hebrides with three rounds fired at the same time on the same target with the launchers about a click apart, as I was no1 at the time my crew and I where inside a close bunker and raced out as soon as we could after firing to see all three rounds converging above the sea. The way the wind was blowing made the boost phase trails curl into a figure 6, and with all three together they made a spooky 666. I still have this on video somewhere and hope to burn it onto a dvd when I can afford a recorder, regards phil hurst.

Further to my post I was having a look on ebay and found some commemorative lance coins, $5 I think depicting lance being fired from an LWL in the gulf war. Was the lance fired in the gulf and in what capacity?.

LANCE was not use din the gulf war. Althought we all wanted to go. With the political climate to introduce a "special weapons" capable missile onto that soil was out of the question

The answer is no it was not used in the gulf war becouse i was in the gulf in 1990-1991 and we went out they with 12 AD, I was with 19 bty from 1978 to 1990 then HQ bty untill regt closed and i got out on redundancy in 1993, Nice to see members of the regt still out there
