Hello John & Gus: Who was your Captain? Have you been back to Crailsheim? I returned for a visit in 2005 and was sad to see that the post is gone. I was the Battalion Secretary from 1974 - 1975 & worked for COL Reynard, MAJ Irving and SGM Hair.

I was in C Battery from 73 to 76, worked as the PLL Clerk. Capt. Harmer was the first CO I had, then Capt. Zamory (sp?). I recently talked via e-mail to Capt. Harmer (ret Col). He told me the base was razed in '91 or '92. I returned to Germany in '89 while working with Boehringer Mannheim but never made it back to Crailsheim.

I was an LT. Worked under CPT's Duitsman, Wagner, and Zamory. Was in Crailsheim in '78 with a Mobile Training Team when the HE warhead was being deployed. Otherwise, never made it back.

After the 42d, I took over the Lance Training Btry at Ft Sill. I had it for 33 months! Then taught Lance at the FA School for a couple of years before going to OAC and subsequent cannon and staff jobs (spent my last 8 years in the Pentagon).
