Everyone in the missile maintenance section received a coin for our part in a Nuclear Surety Inspection. On the front of the coin it says "Commander's Award--For a job well done" and has a Lance missile being fired. On the back it says "1st BN. (LANCE) 12TH F.A. Fort Sill Oklahoma" and has the unit crest. It's a heavy bronze coin about 2 inches in diameter. At the time, you could trade it in for a day off work.

Thanks for picture. A Btry 1/12 was my first assignment in the Army as a firing platoon leader from the Fall of 1973 until Feb 1975. Great job and a great post! -Mike | ||||||
