Was searching for some castle pictures this morning, started entering names of castles I had visited while stationed at Fliegerhorst from 79-81.

I was in Service battery 1/32 and hated every minute. Now, over 20 years ago, I am nostalgic for The Cheery Tree, Binder beer, and Italian food at that restaurant right off the base where "relatives" of the owner would work for a time while recovering from unexplained gunshot wounds received back home in Italy.

At the time, I was the only E2 in the battalion who live in the barracks and had my own POV.

Mike Watkins from N Carolina send me a note if you get this.

JOHN LOWALCYSK, I WAS IN HEADQUATERS BATTERY FROM OCT 76 TO OCT 79. WHEN WERE YOU THERE? WHAT BATTERY WERE YOU IN?
I WAS A GENERATOR MECHANIC, WORKING MOSTLY ON THE 5 KW'S PULLED BEHIND THE RAT RIGS. THE 4.2 GENERATORS WERE A GENUINE PAIN IN THE BUTT!!

I wasn't too happy at 1/32 either. It was so depressing when I got there. Everyone told me how much it sucked. How they called it 1st of the Worst. But I loved going to Crete for 2wks and Garmish. Wish I had gone more places while I was there.
