Hello to all former Bravo 1-80th FA (Lance) Soldiers out there but especially to Chris Griffin and Cecil Watts. Chris did indeed contact me through Classmates.com and I hang my head in shame for not replying. Sorry about that Griff and Watts. I retired from the Army in Aug. 1995, worked as a civilian journalist in New Hampshire for about seven years and then returned to the Army as a civilian PAO, first at the Fort Sill PAO and now with US Army Garrison-Hawaii, Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island. I'd love to hear from any of my fellow Lance Missile friends and colleagues from Germany. I also have news of Mark Albe. He left the Army in 1986, I believe, and after several years in corporate America, he returned to the Army and now works for the Army Environmental Center in Baltimore. He's married with two kids who are now in high school. I saw him last in Dec. 04 when he was here for TDY. I will pass on this website to him, I know he will enjoy it. Bob McElroy

thanks for the quick responce Bob(cant get used to first names to this day.) i am glad everything sounds like all is well with you. all has been well with me, luke, and watts. to date we have been in contact with james driggers, who is living in lawton. the word from sgt driggers is that sfc patterson had a heart attack when he got back to fort sill. 1sgt mccolloch is also still in lawton, as are sfc jerry reynolds, sgt frank jette. jette has a masters degree in sociology and is working in lawton. at last report sfc williams was working in the bakery dept at the commisary at fort sill. former lt kathleen lyons at last report made major( info on maj. lyons is about 2 or 3 years old or more)

bob, i just re read that post and almost neglected mentioning lt albe. me and watts knew he had planned on corporate employment. i am glad to hear all sounds well with lt albe. on second thought, it would be better to disregard a phone call form your location to mine. could be fairly expensive.
if you would, send your email address to my email address and we can cover some history, the last time i called australia it was highly expensive and my wife pretty much introduced me to her cast iron skillet. as a result im barred from any kind of really long distance calling.

Hey Griffin, I left B Btry about a year before you got there.I was firing Sec Chief and A&T section chief there.I was ther from '76 to '83. I do however recognize some of the nmes you mentioned. I remember Steinke when he was a green 2lt. Sfc Patterson (Al) had been ther forever when I left! Imagine my surprise reading his name connected to 1984! Top McColough had just got there shortly before I left. I think he was in A btry then. Ray Lara also comes to mind. Thanks for the memories the names brought back.
