Hello to all former Bravo 1-80th FA (Lance) Soldiers out there but especially to Chris Griffin and Cecil Watts. Chris did indeed contact me through Classmates.com and I hang my head in shame for not replying. Sorry about that Griff and Watts. I retired from the Army in Aug. 1995, worked as a civilian journalist in New Hampshire for about seven years and then returned to the Army as a civilian PAO, first at the Fort Sill PAO and now with US Army Garrison-Hawaii, Pohakuloa Training Area on the Big Island. I'd love to hear from any of my fellow Lance Missile friends and colleagues from Germany. I also have news of Mark Albe. He left the Army in 1986, I believe, and after several years in corporate America, he returned to the Army and now works for the Army Environmental Center in Baltimore. He's married with two kids who are now in high school. I saw him last in Dec. 04 when he was here for TDY. I will pass on this website to him, I know he will enjoy it. Bob McElroy

thanks for the quick responce Bob(cant get used to first names to this day.) i am glad everything sounds like all is well with you. all has been well with me, luke, and watts. to date we have been in contact with james driggers, who is living in lawton. the word from sgt driggers is that sfc patterson had a heart attack when he got back to fort sill. 1sgt mccolloch is also still in lawton, as are sfc jerry reynolds, sgt frank jette. jette has a masters degree in sociology and is working in lawton. at last report sfc williams was working in the bakery dept at the commisary at fort sill. former lt kathleen lyons at last report made major( info on maj. lyons is about 2 or 3 years old or more)
hope the holidays and such were good for you and yours.... regards

bob, i just re read that post and almost neglected mentioning lt albe. me and watts knew he had planned on corporate employment. i am glad to hear all sounds well with lt albe.

on second thought, it would be better to disregard a phone call form your location to mine. could be fairly expensive.

if you would, send your email address to my email address and we can cover some history, the last time i called australia it was highly expensive and my wife pretty much introduced me to her cast iron skillet. as a result im barred from any kind of really long distance calling. regards

Hey Griffin, I left B Btry about a year before you got there.I was firing Sec Chief and A&T section chief there.I was ther from '76 to '83. I do however recognize some of the nmes you mentioned. I remember Steinke when he was a green 2lt. Sfc Patterson (Al) had been ther forever when I left! Imagine my surprise reading his name connected to 1984! Top McColough had just got there shortly before I left. I think he was in A btry then. Ray Lara also comes to mind. Thanks for the memories the names brought back.

hello from louisville ky..... great to see a rrply from sgt doughty and dennis powell. i am in constant contact with cecil watts and lucas. cecil watts is in talbott tn and luke is in watagua tx. watts is an over the road truck driver and luke is in charge of fueling jets at dallas fort worth airport. hes there chief p.o.l clerk. by the way dennis ... are you still collecting marlboro stuff. you know that by now if you still had those things you had in aburg they might be worth some cash. also, i dont know if you remember him or not, but i am in contact with damon howard via email. he works for csx railroad out of stanton california. me and watts have been trying to find alley...reynolds and bubba. me and watts are in contact with capt mcelroy and lt albe. sgt driggers is alive and well in lawton and contacts me and cecil whenever he can. according to driggers sfc johnson works in the bakery at the fort sill commissary. as for the rest like louie and gino we dont know. mark harris is in contact with watts on occasion. last word ever on capt steinke was that he was an instructor at the war college. nothing further on him at all. capt mcelroy lives in hawaii and is a journalist of some sort. lt albe is still connected with the army but as a civilian contractor something to do with unexploded ordinance, me and watts still aint sure just what he does. anyway heres some contact info: cecil watts bandit8584@yahoo.com phone(cell)free weekends and nights 1-865-384-7128 chris griffin cgriffn101@yahoo.com 1-502-290-2070 call anytime great to hear from from you guys, give us a buzz for further info if you want to.

hey dennis
in ref to gribble(goat) (cliff) several years ago he was married to nina, if you remember, she was a 2nd lt...but i cant remember her maiden name at the time. apparently a bunch of shit went down and goat got into some kind of serious trouble. i think watts would know about all that. what i do know is that gribble and nina divorced and she ended up wporking on post at the post office at fort sill. in ref to dotson he married that kiowa girl, her name i belive was nina hat. at one point he was driving qa church bus in his home town and ended up getting charged with child molestation. me and watts can not and will not believe that shit and think he was set up. he and his nina also divorced. to date we have no further info on gribble or dotson. but sgt driggers might have heard something more on the way. in ref to alley. his name was charles alley and at one point several years ago watts recieved a letter from him from somewhere in georgia. unfortunately there was no return address. me and watts tried to call carollina puerto rico but the language barrier caused us both a problem. me and watts speculate that alley is either dead or in prison.dennis you may think im crazy but it seems like everyone we knew at the 1/80th that got back to fort sill got screwed in one form or another. jerry reynolds got a courts martial..george piper got into some sort trouble concerning defrauding the government. hernandez and oleary went to prison for torching a bar. im serious, dennis fort sill caused a lot of all kinds of problems. anyway, if you need to contact me outside this message board please do. i can go into greater detail that way.

hello alan
myself and cecil watts have been trying to find charles brian alley...he had a tatoo "the puerto rican pirate" on his arm. we referred to him as the puerto rican problem as a result of that tatoo. or PRP. in no way related to ar50-5c.
