I am looking to say hello to anyone who served with me in the Fliegerhorst Lance Missle 1/32 from 1985-1986. I was a surveyor (SP4) there for only a year and a half. Some people called me Lenny for a nick name.

I have a few photos of folks from then. Thank you to George Johansson for remembering some of the names of folks in my photos like: Paul Simms, Philip Garrett, and Paul Bowmen. He also remembered Sgt Hollifield and SSG Rutlege.

I also remember, SP4 Vince Fry, Mitch Zielberger, Female Mechanic Sgt Bird, and supply Sgt Glowinski and husband Sgt Brown.

Not sure that I recall you, but sure do remember some of those names! You may have gotten there after I left or I just have lost the name in my old age! I have many pics. I keep in touch with George. As a matter of fact, I spoke with him this morning and he got me to check out this site. Now I have spent most of the day reading stuff on it!!!

Hello Mary

I am not sure if we crossed paths back then. My records show I was in Charlie Battery from Mid December 1984 through May of 1986. I took an early release from the service and went home after this tour. I never went to Crete but I was in Garmish when the space shuttle exploded in 1985.

I have just a few photos which I recently scanned. George was very helpful in putting names to almost everyone in my photos. I will send you what I have. Maybe you will recognize them as well.

Hi Kurt! I can try. How do we go about me getting to see them? I am really bad with this computer stuff! I too have gone and found some old photos. took them in to have them put onto a CD so I can load them onto the computer.

I sent four photos in .jpg format to the email address that comes up on your guest icon. Hopefully you if you just click on the files, it will activate a program on your computer that opens photos.

I got there October 1986, just in time for Octoberfest. Hugo Saenz was the First Sergeant. Mary posted a list of C Btry members. I remember most of them. I have some pictures that I will post when I have time. I will let you know when and where I post them. The best time we had were going into the local forest in the economy for training instead of having to go to Graf like our 13B friends. And what about REFORGER? That was something specially when it was in the middle of Winter.

Yes, REFORGER was something else!!!!! My first "Field Exercise" (other than basic, AIT, and the hospital idea of it!) was to go to "Reforger"! How eye opening an experience! But I came to really enjoy those times in the field~~~~~must have been the group I was with that made it some much fun!!

Kurt, When did you leave C Btry? I got there in October I believe you were gone by the time I got there. I got there just before 1SG Saenz retired. SFC Brown came to the Battery so he could prepare for the Sergeant Morales Board. One of the Lt got in trouble for going out with a SP4. There was a Court Martial after REFORGER 1986, I believe for an SFC due to drinking allowed in a field environment or something to that effect.

Crete, now that was an experience. I am planning a return trip to Germany and Crete after I retire next year.

By the way 1SG Saenz is still in Germany. Last I heard he was in Hoensfel as a contractor with Lockheed. Tucker is/was married to Gonzo. Last I heard he was at Lawton.

Andino lives in El Paso, I ran across him in 1992/93 when I attended the Sergeants Major Academy.

Mary, Now you know that it was the group of soldiers that made it fun. Were you there when we Spiked the watermelon with "OUSO"? We took a watermelon, made a hole big enough to plugged the bottle and pour the content into the melon. Then replaced the plug and placed it in the Medics frige (they were the only ones with the luxury of a refrigerator). The last night we hung outside under the flag pole (that had a flag with only 48 stars) and ate the watermelon. I know that Hollifield was there so was Tucker and several more. I remember we had a hangover next day for the return flight.

Hello Luis,

It looks like I got there after Mary left, but left before you got there. My time in C Btry was December 1984 through May of 1986.I went back to civilian life after Fliegerhorst. So, I missed all the things you mention in your post. But we knew many people in common.
