Just wondering whats the deal with the MOS names. I was a 15Delta10 Lance Missile Crewmember but I also saw a site where they said they were a 13November Lance Missile Crewmember. So whats the deal? Did they change MOS designation in the late 80's?

Anyone out there know?

I'm not sure when the change took place but I went thru AIT in 87 as a 13 November.

I think it changed in Nov 86. I finished training in Sept 85 and it changed a few months before I got out in May 87.

Once MLRS was fielded and LANCE was on the chopping block the option was given to either stay LANCE until the end or convert to MLRS.

We were converted from 15D to 13N in late 85 or early 86 I think.

Larry was a character. Always trying to be the comedian when so many of them were always out of work. I also have to say that he was a good soldier and always got done whatever task I gave him.

it was my understanding in ait 90 that zulu and delta was a higher clearance mos.i was 13n10 with zulu delta training at ait with a secondary mos as 13m(mlrs) ait (90).in 91 my primary mos became the 13m(mlrs)

Yeah, I became a 15D10Z10 (I believe that was the correct nomenclature) back in the 'Shiem with Chief Nunez. When I went to Sill in 85' I got offered a change for the killer job of working at Lance Branch with Nunez since he had gone there a year earlier.

But, Nooooo, Top Montgomery at C Brty 6/33 said no, and I quote, " Sorry Ramirez, But we really need Zulu's here in Charlie Brty." Then the fucker makes me his Battery Clerk a week later, yeah he really put that Zulu training I had to good use.

The reason it went to 13n was they were transitioning us to FA instead of missile...13 series was FA...15 was missile....we were being brought into the FA for organization purposes ....also at that time they were trying to get us straight with the secondary MOS' HEAVILY.. as I remember...I was Lance from 82-90...
